In the Ohangaron district of Tashkent region, an attack with a knife was carried out on internal affairs officers. This is reported by Kun.uz, citing sources here.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of June 15 in the area of the Eyvalak mahalla of the district. Patrol officers on duty saw a group of intoxicated citizens and called them to order.
According to a source, a dispute arose when the officers attempted to issue an administrative report. After that, one of the citizens attacked with a knife, inflicting bodily harm on a prevention inspector.
It is noted that other internal affairs officers who arrived at the scene were forced to use their service weapons in self-defense.
According to information available to Kun.uz, a 34-year-old man living in Ohangaron district, suspected of committing this crime, has been put on the wanted list.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 25 and 97 of the Criminal Code, i.e., on the grounds of attempted premeditated murder.
Currently, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have not yet provided official information regarding this incident.
