Defender of the Uzbekistan national team Rustamjon Ashurmatov said that his teammate, Abdukodir Khusanov, could win the most prestigious award in world football — the Golden Ball — in the future. Ashurmatov spoke about this in an interview with Russia's Sport-Express publication.
According to him, Khusanov reaching his current level is not a surprise for him.
"I am not surprised by Khusanov's growth. Because I know him from the time he played in the main team of Bunyodkor, while he was studying at the academy. Back then, I did not imagine his future would be like this, but I am not surprised by his current results. Most importantly, his potential is even higher. I wish him to become one of the best footballers in England, in Europe, and in the world," said Ashurmatov.
According to the experienced defender, Khusanov has not yet reached the full peak of his capabilities and can achieve even higher results in the future. Ashurmatov emphasized that his talent and hard work are enough for the greatest achievements in world football.
