During an operational event conducted in the Namangan region, nearly 4 kilograms of hashish smuggled from a neighboring country through illegal routes were confiscated. This was reported by the State Security Service.
According to the report, during a joint operation by the Namangan regional department of the SSS and the regional Customs department, a Cobalt model car traveling on the "Tashkent — Namangan" route was stopped and inspected at the "Namangan" traffic police checkpoint in the Pop district.
During the inspection, 3 kilograms and 956 grams of hashish were found in a bag belonging to a passenger in the car—a resident of Namangan city, born in 1989, with a prior criminal record—and were formalized as material evidence.
A pre-investigation examination revealed that this narcotic substance was brought in from a neighboring country through indirect routes in collusion with another fellow resident, also born in 1989 and previously convicted. This individual was also detained in accordance with procedural procedures.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and investigative actions are ongoing.
