Bakhtiyor Islamov has been dismissed from the position of Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was reported that a corresponding decision has been made.
For reference, Bakhtiyor Islamov was elected as the Chairman of the Supreme Court at the thirtieth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis in August 2022.
During his career, he worked as a judge in Fergana and Tashkent regions. Additionally, until November 2020, he served as the Chairman of the Tashkent City Court for Criminal Cases.
In 2020, Islamov was appointed to the position of First Deputy Advisor on issues of protecting citizens' rights and working with appeals in the Presidential Administration. He later also served as an Advisor to the President on coordinating the activities of law enforcement and supervisory bodies.
Let us recall that before him, the position of Chairman of the Supreme Court was held by Kozimjon Komilov, who was dismissed at his own request due to health-related reasons.
