New growth points have been identified for the Tashkent economy.

The President outlined priority tasks in the capital to accelerate economic growth and support entrepreneurship.

At a meeting held under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, issues of rapid development of the economy of Tashkent city, increasing the volume of investment and exports, as well as creating new jobs were discussed. It was noted that the capital currently provides 21 percent of the country's gross domestic product.

Tasks have been set to increase the city's economy by 12 percent for the current year, attract $3.6 billion in exports and $9 billion in investment. At the same time, 12 districts will be specialized in specific sectors, with particular attention paid to the development of industrial and service networks.

It was noted at the meeting that during meetings with entrepreneurs, more than a thousand problems were identified and new proposals were developed. It was proposed to establish a special coordinating council to resolve them promptly.

In addition, tasks were set to produce 88 trillion soums worth of products, ensure $4.9 billion in exports, and create new jobs by utilizing additional reserves.
