In Uzbekistan, starting from April 1, 2026, the practice of calculating penalty points for violations detected through automated photo and video recording systems has been introduced.
According to the Road Safety Service, as of April 22, 22,638 drivers across the republic had accumulated up to 5 penalty points.
It was noted that the violations are mainly related to non-compliance with traffic light prohibiting signals, driving into oncoming traffic, violating stopping and parking rules, as well as speeding.
According to official data, some drivers accumulated up to 10 penalty points within 22 days. Under the current procedure, drivers who reach 12 points may be deprived of their driver's license.
