Corruption crimes related to bribery have been identified in the Tashkent and Navoi regions. This was reported by the State Security Service.
According to the information, during an operational event conducted jointly by the Tashkent Regional Directorate of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office, an inspector from one of the district branches of the Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection in the Tashkent region was caught red-handed while receiving $2,200 US dollars in exchange for issuing a certificate granting a citizen the right to extract natural turf from a 20-hectare area of state reserve land and a declaration for its transportation.
During the pre-investigation check, it was found that the inspector had kept $200 of this amount for himself, while the remaining $2,000 was intended for the head of the district branch. In a subsequent operational event, the head of the district branch was also apprehended while receiving the $2,000 US dollars.
Furthermore, during an event conducted jointly by the Navoi Regional Directorate of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and internal affairs bodies, a machinist from one of the district branches of the joint-stock company "Navoi Suv Ta'minoti" was caught while receiving $500 US dollars from a local citizen, promising to arrange employment for him as an operator through his acquaintances.
During the operational event, the chief engineer of this enterprise, who had a previous criminal record, was also apprehended while receiving this money. Additionally, the head of the district branch was found to be involved in these illegal actions, and the situation was documented in accordance with procedural law.
