Corruption cases in the gas supply and cadastre system in the Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions have been stopped. This was reported by the State Security Service.
It was noted that during operational measures carried out by employees of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, two separate corruption crimes were uncovered.
In particular, an official of the "Urguttumangaz" gas supply department in the Samarkand region and a person who previously worked at this organization conspired and promised to formalize project documents and obtain a technical permit for installing a new natural gas distribution device in a production workshop belonging to a limited liability company. For this service, they demanded 2,000 US dollars.
During the operational measure, these individuals were caught red-handed while receiving the requested money.
Another incident was recorded in the Kashkadarya region. The head of one of the district departments of the Cadastre Agency promised a local citizen to formalize cadastre documents and arrange the purchase of a 50-hectare irrigated land plot, allocated for building a greenhouse, in the name of another person. For this, he had previously received 11,600 US dollars.
However, the official did not fulfill his promise. Later, while returning 49.7 million soums from the amount he had received, his illegal actions were uncovered.
During the pre-investigation check, the official also returned the remaining portion of the 11,600 US dollars, amounting to 89.5 million soums, to the victim.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code regarding both incidents. Investigative actions are ongoing.
