President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated US President Donald Trump on the 250th anniversary of the country's independence and the national holiday — Independence Day. This was reported by the presidential press service.
In his congratulatory letter, the head of state sincerely congratulated Donald Trump and the American people on behalf of the multinational people of Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the US economic power and its position on the international stage are being further strengthened under his leadership.
The President noted that relations between the two countries are consistently developing based on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests. It was also highlighted that expanding trade volumes, implementing joint investment projects, and cooperation in the areas of critical mineral resources and innovative collaboration are among the priority directions.
The letter also noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the security sphere, as well as intensifying efforts in combating illegal migration, terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, and the illicit trafficking of narcotics.
Furthermore, the head of state expressed confidence that cooperation within the "C5+1" platform, the UN, and other international frameworks will rise to a new level with the support of Donald Trump.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also stressed that he looks forward to a meeting with Donald Trump on the sidelines of the "Big Twenty" summit, which will be held in Miami this December.
