By the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev "On additional measures for the development of the fisheries sector", the years 2026-2027 have been designated as the period for accelerated development of the fisheries sector.
In accordance with the decree, it is planned to bring the volume of fish production in the country to 500 thousand tons, and the volume of cold-water fish farming to 20 thousand tons.
Additionally, the Fisheries Development Center and the Sector Support Fund will be established.
Starting from 2027, reservoirs and natural water bodies will be leased through an open electronic auction.
The decree also establishes a number of benefits for entrepreneurs operating in the fisheries sector. In particular, subsidies and compensations will be allocated for importing solar panels, aerators, breeding female fish, closed water circulation systems (UZV), and equipment for producing compound feed.
Furthermore, short-term training courses will be organized for fish farms, and the costs of attracting foreign specialists will also be supported by the state.
The main goal of the document is to transform the fisheries sector into a modern and competitive industry, create new jobs, and provide the population with quality fish products.
