President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the participants of the first International Forum on Islamic Civilization being held in Uzbekistan and emphasized that today the study and promotion of the rich spiritual, scientific and cultural heritage of Islamic civilization is becoming more important than ever.
According to the head of state, in the complex conditions of escalating conflicts, mutual distrust, extremism and Islamophobia in the world, science, enlightenment and noble values remain the most reliable foundation for peace and sustainable development.
Noting that the idea of "Enlightenment against ignorance" has not lost its relevance today, the President stated that the most effective way to combat modern threats is the development of science, education and high spiritual values.
According to Mirziyoyev, Central Asia, and particularly the land of Uzbekistan, has been one of the major centers of world science and civilization for centuries. The scientific heritage of scholars such as Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Ahmad al-Farghani, Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Mirzo Ulugbek, Alisher Navoi, Babur Mirzo, Imam al-Bukhari, Imam al-Tirmidhi, Imam al-Maturidi and Burhanuddin al-Marghinani is an invaluable treasure for all humanity.
The President emphasized that the study, preservation and wide promotion of the rich heritage of Islamic civilization has become one of the priority directions of state policy in the country. He also noted that the reconstruction of the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex in Samarkand region is being recognized as an important spiritual and educational center for the entire Muslim world.
The head of state called the Center for Islamic Civilization an intellectual bridge connecting the past and the future, East and West, and expressed confidence that this forum will bring cooperation between different countries, international organizations and scientific centers to a new level.
At the same time, the President stated that Uzbekistan is ready to support international projects in the fields of science, culture and humanitarian affairs, and called on everyone to further strengthen cooperation on the path of knowledge and enlightenment.
