At the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Busan, South Korea, the modernist architecture objects of Tashkent were officially included in the organization's World Heritage list.
According to the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, this is the first time in the last 25 years that a national nomination submitted by Uzbekistan has been included in this prestigious UNESCO list.
She emphasized that this decision represents international recognition not only of individual architectural objects, but of an entire historical period associated with the reconstruction of Tashkent after the 1966 earthquake.
Saida Mirziyoyeva assessed this event as an important step in preserving Uzbekistan's rich architectural heritage, promoting it on the international stage, and passing it on to future generations.
