On August 1, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyzstan Grand Prix in water-motor sports on the shore of Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan.
According to the president's press service, the event was held within the framework of the program of the informal Consultative Meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states and Azerbaijan. The heads of state congratulated the participants and guests of the competition and wished the athletes good luck.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with his wife Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, also watched the qualifying rounds of the athletes.
For reference, the Kyrgyzstan Grand Prix is the second stage of the F1H2O World Championship held under the auspices of the International Water-Motor Sports Federation. This competition, known as "Formula 1 on Water", is attended annually by professional teams and athletes from various countries.
This stage of the world championship is being organized for the first time in Central Asia. The competition program includes training, qualifying races, and the main race featuring boats moving at speeds of over 220 kilometers per hour.
