Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis today, on August 4, adopted in the first reading the draft constitutional law "On the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The draft law defines the legal status, main tasks, procedure for organizing activities, and powers of the Presidential Administration.

Also, the document provides legal guarantees for the activities of officials, managerial and service personnel of the Presidential Administration.

The draft also reflects norms on the interaction of the Presidential Administration with compliance and anti-corruption internal control structures in state bodies and organizations.

The deputies approved the draft constitutional law in the first reading.

This draft law was developed based on amendments and additions to the Constitution that entered into force on July 25 of this year.

Let us recall that on May 1, 2023, the new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan entered into force. On July 25 of this year, amendments and additions were made to it for the first time.

In particular, the Constitutional Law "On the Tashkent International Financial Center" introduced amendments and additions to a number of articles of the Constitution. One of them relates to Article 109 of the Constitution, according to which the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan forms the Presidential Administration and appoints its head in order to provide organizational, legal and analytical support for his powers.

Also, the Constitution establishes that the legal status, main tasks, procedure for organizing activities and powers of the Presidential Administration are determined by a separate law.
