On August 8, a telephone conversation between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and US President Donald Trump took place.
During the conversation, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia was discussed on the occasion of the first anniversary of the summit held in Washington. The sides noted that the long-standing conflict had been brought to an end.
During the conversation, issues of developing economic ties between Azerbaijan and the US, implementing the TRIPP transport project, and strengthening transport connectivity in the region were also touched upon.
Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to Donald Trump for his role in the Washington summit, as well as for inviting Azerbaijan to the G20 summit.
The sides expressed their agreement on bringing the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the US to a new level.
Let us recall that on August 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
