President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in Khorezm. For the first time, about 25,000 entrepreneurs are also participating through studios organized in districts.
The head of state congratulated the 1.2 million-strong business community actively contributing to strengthening the country's economic power on Entrepreneurs' Day.
According to the President, since the tradition of holding open dialogue with entrepreneurs began, thousands of issues hindering business have been resolved. During this period, 84 laws, 861 decrees and decisions were adopted.
"Why? To create conditions for our entrepreneurs, increase new jobs, and make our people profitable right in their own neighborhood without going far!" — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is noted that over the past five years, the credit portfolio allocated for business has nearly tripled, reaching 450 trillion soums. Entrepreneurs have benefited from tax and customs privileges worth 650 trillion soums.
Also, many entrepreneurs have independently attracted $1 billion from foreign banks for their projects. The President assessed this as another major milestone achieved by entrepreneurs.
"Today our entrepreneurs are moving from the 'starting a business' stage to the 'increasing capital' stage," the head of state said.
Over the past five years, enterprises' investments in fixed capital have tripled, reaching 363 trillion soums.
The number of districts with industrial production exceeding $100 million has increased from 66 to 116.
Due to the rapid development of information technology, fintech, and other service sectors, the number of districts with services volume exceeding 1 trillion soums has reached 152, up from 41.
The number of enterprises working with international marketplaces has reached 3.5 thousand. The number of entrepreneurs who started their business in a neighborhood and have dozens of branches across the country has exceeded 550, and those who created a national brand have exceeded 300.
The President noted that in recent years, the supply of copper, gold, rolled metal, polyethylene, PVC, kaolin and other types of raw materials has increased.
This has created the groundwork for significant growth in sectors such as electrical engineering, building materials, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and furniture making.
Also, new directions such as electric vehicles, polymers and household chemicals, 'green' energy, and the jewelry industry have been formed.
Modern automobile plants such as BYD, ADM Jizzakh, and Sirdaryo Asaka Motors have brought new technologies and competencies to the sector.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that in recent years, new opportunities for entrepreneurship have also been created in the Khorezm region.
It is noted that in a short period, $4 billion in foreign investment was injected into the region's economy, and 10,000 new production capacities were launched.
The special economic zone 'Hazorasp' and 31 industrial zones have been established.
Electric power stations with a total capacity of 275 megawatts have been built in the Tuproqqal'a and Yangiariq districts. They serve to ensure a stable energy supply for enterprises.
Today, small business creates 72 percent of Khorezm's economy. The share of small business in the region's exports has reached 81 percent, and Khorezm has taken first place in the republic in this indicator.
In the region, the number of weekly flights has increased from 16 to 102, and rail services from 8 to 41.
The high-speed train "Tashkent — Khiva" has been launched. Also, a new 35-kilometer "Urganch — Khiva" highway is being brought into operation.
New projects are also being implemented in the tourism sector. The "Arda Khiva" tourism complex has been built on an area of 25 hectares in Khiva. Entrepreneurs have established 331 hotels and guest houses with 7 thousand beds.
This year, 3 million foreign tourists are expected to come to Khorezm.
Also, the tourism complex "Sahro Yulduzi", which includes hotel, trade, and entertainment facilities, will be built in Khiva.
"In a word, today Khorezm is becoming a center of new opportunities for entrepreneurs," the President said.
During the dialogue, initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, further expanding business opportunities in the regions, and attracting new investments are expected to be presented.
