A woman living in the Bekabad district of Tashkent region, born in 1999, previously convicted under Article 112 (threat to kill or use violence) and Article 140 (insult) of the Criminal Code, in July 2025 went to a neighboring republic and reached an agreement with a drug dealer to purchase 1 kilogram of "hashish" for 6,000 US dollars and bring it into the territory of Uzbekistan.
After some time, the woman received the address of a secret location where the narcotic substance was left via the WhatsApp messenger.
Subsequently, she, along with two acquaintances previously convicted for drug-related crimes, set off to a field area in the territory of Bekabad city.
However, while they were retrieving the narcotic substance from the secret location, they were caught red-handed by employees of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee.
According to the expert examination, the net weight of the confiscated narcotic substance was 985 grams.
During the investigation, it was also established that the woman, together with her accomplice born in 1993, had rented an apartment in Bekabad city and set up a "drug den" there for selling and consuming narcotic substances.
According to the verdict of the Bekabad City Court on Criminal Cases, these individuals were found guilty of committing crimes stipulated in Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code. They were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 8 years and 3 months to 10 years and 6 months.
The State Security Service urged citizens to contact the SSS short number 1520 if they encounter situations related to drug trafficking. It was announced that the confidentiality of the complainant is guaranteed.
