During an operational event conducted by the State Security Service in cooperation with border troops and customs authorities, a large batch of drugs being illegally brought into the country was uncovered.
According to reports, when a cargo vehicle driven by a citizen born in 1973, a resident of the Altıarıq district of Fergana region, who entered from Kazakhstan through the "S. Najimov" border customs post in the Qibray district of Tashkent region, was inspected, 52 types of medical items and medicines totaling 95,369 units hidden among food products were found.
During the operational event, a citizen born in 1986, a resident of the Tashkent district who received this cargo, was also detained with material evidence.
According to relevant calculations, the total value of these medicines amounted to 1 billion 323 million soums.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and investigative actions are being carried out.
