A tragedy occurred as a result of a traffic accident in Kokand on May 20 around 15:40.
According to reports, a 9th grade student took the car key with his grandfather's permission and drove off under the pretext of washing the car. At that moment, he hit school students who were crossing a pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the incident, one girl died in the hospital, and two others are under medical supervision with serious injuries.
The car owner — the grandfather also commented on the situation, saying that he gave the key only for washing and did not notice that his grandson had driven off.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal case against the minor driver under Articles 266 and 267 of the Criminal Code. He has been taken into custody. Investigative actions are ongoing.
