According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as of the end of the first quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan's national debt reached 46.9 billion dollars.
Of this, 39.77 billion dollars accounts for external debt, and 7.2 billion dollars for internal debt. The bulk of the external debt is in foreign currency, amounting to 83 percent of the total external debt.
The ratio of national debt to GDP stood at 26.6 percent.
According to data, Uzbekistan maintains its largest indebtedness to the World Bank — 9.04 billion dollars. The following positions are occupied by the Asian Development Bank (8.28 billion dollars), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (2.28 billion dollars), as well as financial organizations of China and Japan.
