A delegation led by Uzbekistan's Minister of Defense Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov arrived in the Qatari capital Doha on an official visit on May 21. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
As part of the visit, the minister held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
During the talks, the parties discussed the latest security-related situation and changes in the region. Also, based on current conditions, issues of military cooperation and joint coordination were considered.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
We recall that on January 20, the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan signed a military cooperation plan with Turkish Minister of National Defense Yashar Güler, aimed at 2026. This plan envisages joint exercises of military units, personnel exchanges, and areas of technical cooperation.
