The results of the season in the Turkish championship have been announced. In the last round, Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu failed to score and thus could not overtake Eldor Shomurodov. While the Nigerian footballer did not score in the last five matches, Shomurodov scored six times in the last six games.
Additionally, the Uzbek striker recorded the best result in the league in terms of the number of non-penalty goals and goal+assist ratio.
Shomurodov became the second Uzbek footballer to be the top scorer of the season in European leagues. Before him, Maksim Shatskikh was the top scorer of the Ukrainian Premier League in 2000 and 2003.
