The capacity of student accommodations at public universities has been announced.

This year, online applications from students are also being accepted for dormitories.

Currently, in Uzbekistan, there are 338 student dormitories available in 112 higher education institutions (HEIs) with a total capacity of 127,792 places. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations reported this to “darakchi.uz”.

It is mentioned that currently, 86 dormitory projects with 46,252 places are being implemented across the republic. Out of these, 59 projects (with 31,882 places) are being constructed based on state-private partnership, while 27 projects (with 14,370 places) are funded by the budgets of the HEIs.

“At the moment, construction works for 67 dormitories with a total of 34,320 places are being carried out,” the source reported.

Currently, the region with the highest number of dormitories is the city of Tashkent. Today, in the capital, there are 108 student dormitories operating with a total of 41,848 places. Additionally, 10 dormitory projects with 8,542 places are being developed, and the construction of 7 hostels with 6,110 places is ongoing.

For the 2024/2025 academic year, all level students of state HEIs have been provided with the opportunity to apply online for dormitory places. The process starts from August 1 through the end of the academic year via the portal my.gov.uz.

It is reported that 60 percent of the state HEIs students who are not accommodated in dormitories and live in rented housing will be covered by the budget for a portion of their monthly rent. Applicants will receive an amount equal to one base calculation value in Tashkent city and half a base calculation value in other regions for their rent.
