Today, on September 11th, Sadyr Japarov met with Uzbek boxing coach Akmal Hasanov and, as a sign of gratitude for his contribution to Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu’s victory, gifted him a car. This was reported by the information policy service of the president's administration here.
“The whole world saw the people of Central Asia supporting each other, demonstrating their friendly relations. Sport is called the ambassador of peace. You contribute to strengthening mutual harmony. I wish for our unity to become even stronger,” - said Sadyr Japarov.
The President also highlighted the good results achieved by Uzbek athletes at the Olympics in Paris.
“Uzbekistan pays great attention to sports. In the last three years, we started actively supporting our athletes. In the past, there were instances when adequate funding was not provided in time for participation in competitions. Now, the state creates necessary conditions, even providing vitamins,” - stated the head of state.
Akmal Hasanov expressed gratitude for the sincere words, stating that he had met with Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu many times and did not hesitate to agree to become his second.
It is worth noting that Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu won a silver medal at the Paris (France) Olympic Games. He became the first athlete in the history of Kyrgyz boxing to win an Olympic medal. Due to his personal coach not attending, Uzbek coach Akmal Hasanov helped the athlete as a second in the 1/8, 1/4, and the semi-finals of the Olympics.
