The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, together with the Republic Working Group, Control checks were carried out in the Khorezm region by the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency, the Regional Ecology Department, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Tax Authorities. The ministry's press service reported this.
During the raid, incidents of unauthorized waste dumping and illegal landfill operations were identified in the territory of the Dehqon market located in the city of Khiva. Furthermore, it was observed that the administration of "Khiva city Dehqon market" JSC did not arrange a waste collection site and special waste bins within the market area.
Regarding this case, an administrative report was formalized against the responsible person, the director of the market JSC D.M., under part 3 of Article 91¹ of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility, and sent to the Court for legal assessment and appropriate measures.
Moreover, this farmer's market territory has been assigned to the "Eco-cluster" LLC sanitary company, and an agreement exists between the market administration and them, however, it was found that the administration owes 5 million UZS to the LLC. The head of the market administration emphasized the elimination of this debt and installed waste bins in the market area.
For your information, the dumping of household and construction waste in unauthorized locations subjects officials to fines ranging from 20 to 30 times the base calculation amount (from 7.5 million UZS to 11.25 million UZS). If this action is repeated within a year, the fine is set from 30 to 50 times the base calculation amount.
