According to the Ministry's Press Service, "M-25" mine area is undergoing controlled burning of gas collected in small volumes. No unexpected situations have been observed in the mine area.
Currently, work is underway to conserve the site where methane emissions occurred in September 2024, and continuous monitoring is being conducted there.
During the cleaning operations in well number 604, gas accumulated in small volumes was found in spaces and collectors near the surface and in micro cracks in remote areas of the well.
At the moment, the area is undergoing interventions to neutralize the accumulated gas in small volumes by burning it. The aim is to prevent the release of acidic gases into the atmosphere.
"This process is considered a standard approach to preventing environmental pollution and fully meets international industrial safety standards.
The planned conservation and preventive works consist of several operations that might be interpreted differently by individuals who do not understand the specific characteristics of this technological process. The video footage circulated on the case serves as a good example," – states the report.
