Two passengers were killed by a Damas in Fergana region. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported about this.
It was reported that the incident occurred on the internal traffic road passing through the Yakkatut neighborhood of the Toshloq district on the Quva-Margilan-Marhamat road. A 34-year-old Damas driver, under the influence of alcohol, was driving at high speed and hit a citizen riding a bicycle ahead.
Then he went into the opposite direction and hit a 5-year-old girl walking with her mother on the side of the road, and fled the scene. As a result of the incident, the girl died in the hospital, and a 71-year-old man died at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the traffic accident, and investigative actions are being conducted. Pre-trial detention has been applied as a precautionary measure against the suspect.
According to the information, in the region, there were a total of 2794 cases of drunk driving violations reported in 2024.
