In the years 2025-2027, for the purpose of transitioning to the “green development” model, the decommissioning and conservation of 23 facilities with a total capacity of 3257 MW was determined. This was reported by the press service of “Thermal Power Plants” JSC.
It is noted that 80 percent of this, meaning 2617 MW worth of 19 facilities, will account for the enterprises of “Thermal Power Plants” JSC.
According to the established plan, the phase-by-phase decommissioning (conservation) of old and low-energy-efficient facilities is planned to be carried out at the Syrdarya, Talimarjan, Angren, New-Angren, Tashkent, Navoiy thermal power stations, and the Fergana thermal power center.
The main goal of decommissioning physically and morally outdated facilities at thermal power stations is to reduce conditional fuel consumption, lower the cost of products, and prevent the environmental impact of thermal power stations, through retiring facilities that were built and commissioned in the 60s-70s of the last century and have, in some places, exceeded their operational lifetime by two to three times according to technical conditions.
Furthermore, with the purpose of increasing efficiency in production and introducing modern energy-efficient and effective facilities, based on the relevant decisions of our President, the construction and commissioning of the next 3rd and 4th combined-cycle plants with a total capacity of 1065 MW at the Talimarjan thermal power station have reached the final stage.Tolimarjan thermal power station.
Construction works for a 650 MW combined-cycle plant at the Navoiy thermal power station are underway.
Within the framework of the investment project “Implementing cogeneration projects in the neighborhoods located at the final points of Tashkent city's heating supply,” a 2.3 MW electric, 11 Gcal heating and a 100 MW capacity gas-piston plant in the territory of the 4th heating center in Yunusabad district are being built.
In the current year of 2025, it is planned to construct and commission modern cogeneration facilities in Tashkent city's Mirzo Ulugbek, Yangihayot, Uchtepa, and Yashnobod districts based on similar projects
