The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on March 27th received a delegation led by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas. Issues relating to the expansion of practical cooperation and preparations for upcoming joint events were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to the leader of our country.

Special attention was paid to the organization of the first "Central Asia - European Union" summit events in the city of Samarkand on April 3-4 of this year. The effective outcomes of the multilateral meeting at the ministerial level, held today in the city of Ashgabat, were highly appreciated.

Importance was noted in advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and implementation of initiatives and projects between the two regions in trade and logistics, including the realization of the Trans-Caspian Transport Route potential, digitization, "green" energy, ecology, infrastructure modernization, and other priority directions through effective mechanisms.

Issues of further deepening relations with the EU institutions by Uzbekistan were considered.

Discussions were also held on adopting a new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation and on the country's accession to the World Trade Organization.

Current issues of international and regional politics were also discussed.
