Due to the first "Central Asia — European Union" summit in Samarkand, the roads into the city will be temporarily closed.

On April 3-4-5 of this year, due to the first “Central Asia — European Union” summit, entry roads to Samarkand will be temporarily closed. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Service.

It is reported that due to the road closures, a detour has been organized for transit vehicles passing through the region.

“For this, a special flyer has been developed, through the QR code on which information about the organized detour roads can be obtained”, the report says.

Additionally, the regional Department of Internal Affairs has requested those planning to visit Samarkand on these days to consider postponing their visits to another day.

Furthermore, it is added that during the summit days, to ensure security, movement of vehicles will be temporarily restricted at times on the following streets of Samarkand:

  • Ibn Sina;
  • Afrosiyob;
  • Dahbed;
  • Bostonsaroy;
  • University Boulevard;
  • Namozgoh;
  • Sadriddin Ayniy;
  • Shabod;
  • Usta Umar Juraqulov;
  • Registan;
  • Beruni;
  • Mirzo Ulugbek.

“On these streets, exceptions will be made, allowing the movement of ambulance and emergency services”, the report says.
