Today, on April 5th, 16 underage citizens of Uzbekistan were returned to the country from Saint Petersburg, Russia, accompanied by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health workers. The National Agency for Social Protection reported about this.

It is reported that during the repatriation of the children, the Uzbek consular offices in Saint Petersburg and Moscow took all necessary measures to identify them as citizens of the state and to issue them return certificates.

“Currently, the children have been temporarily placed in the Social and Legal Aid Center for Minors, which is a part of the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs”, says the report.

According to the report, at the center, their parents and close relatives were waiting for them with guardianship documents previously prepared by the “Inson” social service centers.

Additionally, it is reported that out of the 16 children brought, 11 were handed over to their parents, while the rest were given to relatives under guardianship.

For your information, over the past three months, the number of children repatriated to Uzbekistan from foreign countries has reached 68.
