It is reported that the German government is planning to repatriate 1200 tons of gold (equivalent to 113 billion euros) from the USA back to the country. This decision was made due to statements by Donald Trump about the possibility of imposing trade tariffs on the European Union, writes "Zamon.uz".

According to statements from German officials, Trump's unpredictable foreign policy has alarmed Berlin. It is now stated that Germany no longer considers the United States a "reliable partner".

Germany is currently the second-largest holder of gold reserves in the world. 37 percent of these reserves are in the USA, mainly in the New York branch of the Federal Reserve System. They have served as a guarantee, providing the ability to quickly convert the gold into US dollars or other stable currencies if necessary.

However, as global political uncertainty increases, Germany is making efforts to enhance its financial security by moving this gold to its own territory.
