77 Democratic members of the U.S. Congress have released an open letter to President Donald Trump demanding that Elon Musk officially resign from his position as a “special government employee” by May 30. This was reported by zamon.uz here.

Democrats are pointing out that Musk's simultaneous holding of a government position while also engaging in activities with private companies like Tesla and SpaceX is contrary to law. According to U.S. legislation, such an individual cannot work more than 130 days a year.

"We demand a clear and explicit statement from the Trump administration regarding Musk's resignation," the letter says.

Texas Democratic Congressman Gregory Casar stated that this action is not merely a political campaign but is aimed at ensuring the rule of law. He mentioned that if the demand is not met, Democrats will utilize all legal and public pressure mechanisms.

This request, especially given the increasing collaboration between Musk and the U.S. government in technology and military sectors, adds a strategic aspect to the issue.
