Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with CBS News that the war in Ukraine could turn into a global conflict and emphasized the risk of a Third World War here.
«If we do not stand firm, he (Russian President Putin) will continue to advance. These are not baseless assumptions, but a real threat. Putin's ultimate goal is to restore the Russian empire and reclaim territories currently under NATO's protection. That's why I believe this war could escalate into a world war,» — said Zelenskyy.
In addition, he criticized the United States' «neutral position» as wrong:
«President Trump, as a strong leader, should stand with Ukraine,» — said Zelenskyy. He also added that he invited Trump to Ukraine, so he could see the consequences of the Russian aggression with his own eyes.
