On the night of April 15, the Russian city of Kursk came under attack by Ukrainian drones, according to a report by Meduza. The explosion killed an 85-year-old woman and injured nine others.

Residential buildings on Zavodskaya and Orlovskaya streets were damaged, and a fire broke out on one of the floors of a building on Vesprem Street. Residents were evacuated to a safe location. In addition, 11 ambulances in a garage were damaged.

Authorities stated that the drones used in the attack were equipped with steel balls, designed to cause greater destruction upon explosion.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that 109 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and shot down over Kursk that night. Several other drones targeted the Voronezh, Moscow, Bryansk, and Oryol regions.
