An extraordinary conference of the Uzbekistan Student Sports Association was held in the city of Tashkent. The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Qo'ng'iratboy Sharipov was elected as the President of the Association during the conference.

The Uzbekistan Student Sports Association was established in 2018, with the primary objective of popularizing sports among students, teachers, and university staff, forming a reserve of highly skilled athletes, and improving the sports infrastructure.

In recent years, within the scope of the Association's activities, 591 sports clubs in 26 Olympic sports and 721 sports sections in 21 types of sports have been established in higher education institutions.

The student sports movement has reached a new level, with mass competitions such as "Universiada", "Barkamol Avlod" (Perfect Generation), "Student League", "Five Initiatives Olympiad", "Student Run", and "Rector's Cup" being launched.

The main future tasks of the Association were defined at the conference:

to establish at least 3 sports clubs in all higher education institutions;

to coordinate competitions based on the system of sports clubs;

to organize regional divisions of the Association in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, provinces, and the city of Tashkent;

to improve the tournaments "Barkamol Avlod", "Universiada", and "Student League";

to increase the number and effectiveness of international competitions involving students;

to adopt a special concept for the development of student sports;

to equip existing sports halls and fields with modern equipment;

to create sports facilities in dormitories being built on the basis of public-private partnership.

Additionally, a 4-credit "Physical Education" course will be introduced for first-year students in all fields of study. A unified digital platform and mobile application will be developed for managing the activities of sports clubs and circles. A calendar plan and a rating evaluation system will be introduced through a single electronic platform and integrated with the "Hemis" program.

Model regulations, programs, and methodological manuals for sports circles will be developed in higher education institutions. In addition, matters of material incentives for each circle leader and privileges for students for sports activities will also be considered.

The activities of the Uzbekistan Student Sports Association contribute to promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth, broadening the popularization of sports, and further enhancing the country's sports potential.
