A 19-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan died in a fire that broke out in his rented apartment in the Kadikoy district of Istanbul, Turkey. This was reported by the country's consulate general in Istanbul.
All expenses related to sending the deceased's body to Uzbekistan were fully covered by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At this point, it is necessary to mention that misleading and unfounded information about raising funds to send the deceased to Uzbekistan is being spread on social networks by certain individuals. The Consulate urges our citizens not to believe in such incorrect reports and to rely on official sources.
Taking this opportunity, the Consulate General announces that in accordance with the decision No. 252 "On measures to further improve the system of placement of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan for employment abroad" recently adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the expenses related to returning the bodies of Uzbek citizens who have died abroad will henceforth be covered by the state.
The diplomatic office also reminded that the expenses related to bringing back the bodies of Uzbek citizens who have died abroad are covered by the state.
