President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in connection with the loss of many lives and injuries as a result of the tragedy in Guizhou Province, China. This was announced by the press secretary of the president, Sherzod Asadov.

According to him, the head of state expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

What happened in China's Guizhou province?

On May 4, 2025, 10 people died in China's Guizhou province when strong winds overturned four tourist ships sailing in the river.

The last of the deceased was recovered from the water on May 5. The remaining passengers were brought ashore by rescuers.

According to Chinese media, 70 people sought medical help. All of them are in satisfactory condition.
