According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Uzbekistan is among the countries with the lowest meat prices in the world.
Experts believe that, currently, in the discounted stalls of Uzbekistan's markets, 1 kg of beef and mutton is sold for an average of 65-75 thousand, in trading stalls for 90-95 thousand, and in shopping centers for 95-100 thousand soms.
In the discounted stalls of Tashkent, meat priced at 65-75 thousand soms accounts for 15-18 percent of the purchases, household meat priced at 90-95 thousand soms accounts for 82-85 percent, and boneless meat (fillet) priced at 110-130 thousand soms accounts for only 1-2 percent.
Another aspect, the capital's markets have implemented the practice of selling meat in parts according to the purchasing power of the population. In particular, bone-separated meat (ragout) is around 25-30 thousand soms, ribs for 85-95 thousand soms, and boneless meat (fillet) for about 110-130 thousand soms.
If we compare, in Russia 1 kg of beef costs around 10-12, in Belarus 6-8, in Kazakhstan 7-11, in Tajikistan 8-10, in Georgia 9.5-12, in Azerbaijan 9.5-12.5, in Turkey 12-14 dollars, and in economically developed countries like Sweden at 46.2, in Iceland 38.86, in South Korea about 28 dollars.
"It is evident that Uzbekistan is among the countries with the lowest meat prices in the world, and holds the second place after Kyrgyzstan among the Central Asian countries", the report says.
If we analyze the factors directly affecting meat production, in the first quarter of 2025, the costs associated with meat production – including feed, electricity, and fuel and lubricants prices have sharply increased.
