On May 10, Uzbekistan's Minister of Defense, Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhammedov, and Russia's Minister of Defense, Andrey Belousov, signed a plan to implement a strategic partnership program in the military field between the two countries for 2026-2030 during a meeting. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

“At the end of the negotiations, the parties signed a plan to implement the Strategic Partnership Program in the military field between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan for the years 2026-2030,” the report says.

In his speech, Belousov emphasized that Russia does not forget the great sacrifices made by the Uzbek SSR for the victory in World War II. He also reminded that Uzbekistan played an important role in supporting the Soviet army from the rear front and in military-technical support in the fight against fascism.

Khalmukhammedov expressed his gratitude to his Russian counterpart for the conditions organized for the participation of Uzbekistani military personnel in the military parade in Moscow.
