In social media, news spread about locusts swarming the road connecting Bukhara and Khorezm regions. The Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection provided information on the situation.

It is noted that the situation in the news occurred on the A-380 highway's 327th kilometer in Bukhara region, where a swarm of saxaul black locusts was identified.

According to information, in order to eliminate the locust swarm without any damage in a timely manner, Bukhara region's service for fighting locusts and the cotton bollworm is conducting chemical treatments in two squads around the clock at the 327th kilometer of the A-380 highway. Efforts to combat the swarm in the identified area are being conducted diligently and systematically.

As stated in the report, the saxaul black locust does not damage agricultural crops.

Gazli array, Romitan, Karakul, and Toyloq districts in Bukhara region have been placed under special surveillance, with observational and monitoring activities continuing, — the report says.

The Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection urges not to spread news that could cause unnecessary panic and confusion among the population, and to contact the numbers 1288 or 71 202 10 00 for information about areas affected by the harmful locusts.
