Ekinoy Tilavova, who resides in the Kiziltep District, has her birth certificate mistakenly stating her name as Erkin Tilavov and her gender as male. This error caused her issues when she was retiring.
The head of the Civil Registration Office in Kiziltep District, Marusa Nosirova, stated that the error was made when both the birth certificate “metric” and the national passport were obtained.
“When we compared the electronic system with the documents in Ekinoy Tilavova's possession, it was clear that the birth record indicated the birth of a male child with the surname Tilavov and the name Erkin. The parents themselves made amendments to the document, and a national passport was obtained with these changes. They have encountered this problem today due to the existence of the electronic system,” said Marusa Nosirova.
In this regard, the Kiziltep District Department of Justice, in collaboration with the Civil Registration Office, has filed a lawsuit to determine the facts of citizenship.
