According to him, the large tax benefits provided for in the bill negatively affect the work of the US Department of Government Enhancement (DOGE).
"I was upset by this document, which increased the budget deficit instead of reducing it," Musk said in an interview with CBS News.
This bill still needs to be approved by the US Senate. The document provides for the extension of tax benefits introduced by Trump in 2017, raising the upper limit of public debt to 4 trillion dollars, and increasing funds allocated for border security.
According to US Congressional estimates, the new tax policy could increase the state budget deficit by $3.8 trillion by 2034.
The White House plans to cover this deficit through import duties.
