US President Donald Trump announced during a press conference at the White House that Elon Musk was stepping down as the head of the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE) and presented him with a ceremonial “golden key” featuring the White House, reports "Zamon.uz".
Musk emphasized that he managed to reduce government spending by one trillion dollars. According to CNN, he had initially promised to save two trillion dollars, but the plan was later scaled down.
Trump called Musk “one of the greatest business leaders and innovators in the world.” Musk, in turn, stated that he would remain the president's “friend and advisor” even after leaving the position.
