A citizen flying to Istanbul was caught trying to secretly carry ancient gold coins from the Samarkand region. The Customs Committee reported this. 

According to reports, at the Samarkand International Airport, customs officers exposed a passenger flying to Istanbul who was secretly taking out two ancient gold coins at the time of discovery.

The coins were identified as 100 kurush and 65 kurush minted in the Republic of Turkey in 1923. Their estimated value, according to preliminary calculations, amounts to 15 million som.

For your information, it is not allowed to take out of Uzbekistan cultural treasures over 50 years old, including numismatic items.
