Russia may launch a “wide-ranging, multidirectional strike” against Ukraine in the coming days. This was reported by the Reuters agency, citing representatives of the US intelligence.
According to them, this action is expected to be carried out in response to the “Spider” (Паутина) operation conducted by the Ukrainian special services. During this operation, several dozen of Russia's winged missile carriers strategic assets were destroyed or seriously damaged.
American officials describe this attack as an "asymmetric" and "hybrid style" strike, which may involve ballistic missiles and drones. According to Western diplomatic sources, the potential attacks would target government institutions and strategic facilities in Kyiv.
Michael Kofman, an expert on Russia at the Carnegie Endowment, speculates that Russia might use medium-range ballistic missiles, possibly attempting to strike the SBU headquarters or regional intelligence offices.
However, he emphasizes that Russia's military capabilities have already been significantly mobilized, noting that this limits its options.
