Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on June 10 that wounded Ukrainian soldiers had been returned from Russian captivity. “This is the first phase within the framework of the agreement reached in Istanbul. All those returned are in urgent need of medical assistance. This is an important humanitarian step,” – wrote Zelensky on his Telegram page.

Among those returned are members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Service, and the Special Transport Service. The President referred to each of them as a “hero”.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also confirmed on June 10 that a prisoner exchange took place for the second time in succession.

This exchange is indicated to have been carried out with international mediation, particularly with the participation of Turkey.

This situation shows that despite the ongoing war, there is still room for humanity and humanitarian approaches.
