The Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has reviewed the official appeal filed by Uzum Market LLC.
The appeal noted incidents of damage to Uzum Market's reputation through advertising materials for Yandex Market, broadcasted by YandexGo LLC via mass media, particularly on television and social networks.
A special commission of the Committee conducted investigations regarding this appeal and consequently, signs of violations of the requirements of Article 21 of the "Competition Law" were identified, which led to legal proceedings against YandexGo LLC.
Within the scope of this article, a number of actions that hinder the competitive activities of economic entities, particularly discrediting competitors, incorrect comparisons, misleading consumers, illegally acquiring trade secrets, and creating artificial barriers to competitors' market entry, are strictly prohibited.
The Competition Committee holds a firm stance on such matters, striving to ensure the development of a business environment on the principles of healthy and fair competition. All relevant materials will be thoroughly analyzed within the scope of the proceedings, and a legal assessment will be provided.
