The "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" summit, which was planned to take place this year, has been postponed to 2026.
As reported, this decision was approved during a parliamentary committee on international affairs meeting by the First Deputy Foreign Minister of South Korea, Park Yoon Choo.
It is noted that this decision was a result of political changes following the unsuccessful attempt by the country's former president, Yun Seok Yeol, to implement martial law.
"After reviewing all relevant circumstances, including our internal schedule, it became difficult to propose an acceptable date for this summit during this year," – stated the Deputy Foreign Minister.
We remind you, the attempt to implement martial law in South Korea led to early elections, and Lee Jae-myung from the "Together" Democratic Party was elected as the new state leader.
