In Tashkent, a man who attempted to rob a bank with a toy weapon was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Yunusabad District Court on Criminal Cases.
The incident occurred in April of this year. The man, wearing a mask, entered the bank but was apprehended immediately. Although the prosecutor demanded a 9-year sentence, the court sentenced him to 5 years under Part 1 of Article 164.
In the courtroom, he expressed regret for his actions, citing financial pressure, a state of despair, and the fact that his grandchild's toy weapon happened to be nearby. "I didn't harm anyone, and I didn't take any money. I apologize to everyone," said the defendant.
